Nana Dadzie. That would be short for a really long birth-given name, but there’s a bit of a formula to it. I’m the son of two immigrant parents from Accra, Ghana, who arrived in Alexandria, Virginia with my then 8-year-old brother in late 1980. I made my grand entrance in the fall of ’81.

My values come from my family’s West African heritage, while my personality, style, and creativity come from growing up in the DMV and Philly. I’m a product of “outside,” immersed in hip-hop culture, a lover of ’90s Nike and Jordan nostalgia, and an admitted neat freak.

I’ve spent 15+ years as a brand marketing leader working at the intersection of sports, technology, community, and culture, with the opportunity to work alongside great brand partners like Apple, Google, ESPN, and the NBA. That journey most recently took me to Curry Brand, where I spent four years leading global brand marketing, strategy and creative alongside Stephen Curry.

 

As a professional voiceover artist, I’ve lent my voice to brands like Google, Shell Gas, Denvix, multiple NBA teams, and the NBA on ESPN. For five seasons, I was ESPN’s lead campaign voice of the league’s unscripted drama throughout the regular season, playoffs, and NBA Finals.

Two very different disciplines, both rooted in the same thing: storytelling.

My path has taken me from higher education, to building original properties like ABigAssCookout, to advertising, sneakers, and sports. Add an “always on” knack for the sidequest, and you start to get a pretty good picture of who I am. I’m ambidextrously strategic and creative, a hustler by nature, and a born leader who’s just as comfortable being the player as I am the coach.
